Steam Inc ran steam trains at the Tauranga Jazz Festival several years running. Mount Maunganui is main port and rail terminal for the Bay of Plenty. The distant Kaimai Ranges are pierced by a nearly 9 Km long rail tunnel, longest in NZ.
