Here is a 1985 view of the KCT Incline track, back when it was in GOOD condition! Even then, it had been stabilized with sheet pilings toward the top (next to third unit in consist). Also, the retaining wall at far left was even then starting to crumble. Nothing substantial was done to fix it until late 2013, when federal grants to improve rail traffic flow were received. Note that back then, the MoPac line on the right consisted of three tracks, later reduced to two and then re-routed to allow for the 2013 improvements.
