The red and orange units, four MK TE70-4S rebuilds from former SP GE U25B locos and known by fans as the Popsicles, were moving north to Portland, Oregon, from California. They arrived in Klamath Falls in southern Oregon by themselves and it was hoped that they would continue north through the Cascades still leading, but it was not to be. The SSW/SP tunnel motors were added in Klamath Falls and led the remainder of the journey to Portland. At least the engineer was friendly!
