Hi, this is the Rail head treatment train, it jets water or a Sandite chemical spray at the Rail head to remove leaves and therefore prevent slipping, the trains run from the end of September, to early December during the leaf fall season, thoughout the UK, either as locohauled or MPVs.
Since the 37s, the South West has had Colas Class 47s and more recently EWS/DBS 66s
