Ab 608 passes through Tawa with a special from Wellington marking 100 years of ANZAC Day honoring our war veterans. Built in 1915, this locomotive was later dedicated as a war memorial honoring over 400 railwaymen who did not return from World War I. Owned by New Zealand Railway & Locomotive Society but based at Steam Inc depot at Paekakariki near Wellington
