The DF class were built by GM in Canada and introduced from 1979. In 1990's were upgraded with turbo etc to GT22 MC. 7010 was leased for several years working push pull commuter trains in Auckland and was painted in dark blue MAXX livery. It has now been overhauled as part of a program with up to $1 Million spent on each locomotive.
