4790 originally entered service in 1964 as DA 1482. It was rebuilt in 1983 as DC (G22AR.) Assisting loco 4663 was formerly leased to Auckland Transport for push pull trains until 2015 when electric units displaced them completely. The entire consist of train 126 appears to be traffic to Fonterra dairy factory at Kauri, the most northern customer for KiwiRail.
