There is a narrow gauge rail linking two European cities, Domodossola in Italy with Locarno in Switzerland. It is the Vigezzina railway, which crosses Val Vigezzo, also known as The Valley of Painters ...The operation of the line is entrusted to the Italian company SSIF (Società Subalpina Imprese Ferroviarie S.p.A.) and to the Swiss FART (Ferrovie Autolinee Regionali Ticinesi). The line stretches for 52 Km between the splendid landscape of the Italo-Swiss valleys, and to make the most of it were constructed panoramic trains from the Skoda. Here we see the direct train D678 Locarno - Domodossola while entering Malesco station, in Italian territory. The train is made up of the pilot's engine ABe4/4 Pp 81 "Domodossola", the mid-engine Be4/4 Pi 88, the P-811 trailer and the pilot's engine Be4/4 Pp 84 "Craveggia".
