On the 29th May, 2017, the official groundbreaking ceremony took place. The new bridge wil be finished by end of 2018, then the old bridge will be renovated, as it is under protection of the department of sites of historic interests. In Novemmber 2019, both bridges should be in orperation, but the old one will be then much less visible. One advantage of the construction is the tree removal on the west bridge head. Now the branch for the directions of Thusis/Albula and Disentis/Oberalppass became visible.

is the train speed reduced during passing this bridge?

Hi pakdhelutfi, actually not, but depending on the works, speed may be reduced.
