The woodpecker clearly likes this tree. I don't think the tree likes the woodpecker. I left the track side to catch this bird in memory, as he was very busy and very loud.

Happy, singing bird, pleased, perhaps, with all the action near Kansas City Union Station...

Had a surprise when crossing Missouri River; barge traffic I've not seen in years. Empties, though.

This guy let me get quite close for his portrait.

There's just no way to sugarcoat it - vultures are pretty ugly.

@jmadhavadas I just love their behavior. Snow geese will land in huge groups on fields or water, and every once in a while somebody will get a wild feather and the whole flock will take off and fly around in circles for a few laps, then they will land and rest. Soon enough, the process will repeat and off they go again. Lots of squawking going on all the while, too.

February brings really nice winter days (finally true winter)
