@Taurus717 Yes thanks. Yet, about
https://trainspo.com/photo/120772/ I think it's more appropriate to put it in "ATTS" operator section, because it's a very different administration for such vehicle. Would it be possible to change section?
@gil646 I know about ATTS, but ATTS is not the operator of the vehicle, but the owner and ECM of those Trams. Every time ATTS wants to operate those Trams, they ask GTT for personnel and operation of those Trams.
Hello.
I have some questions of the criteria for our images.
''Vehicle is blocked or partially cut.''
Must all parts of the train be complete without any obstructions? I think a part of a loco or a train could also be a nice photo.
''Subject of photo is not well lighted.''
This one is also often seen. But they look normal on my computer and phone. I guess everyone's device is not the same.
Greetings and Welcome to Trainspo, Anyrail1435!
To clarify the guidelines for you (and others):
It is NOT necessary for the entire train to be visible in the picture -- we are looking for (and specifically record) images of individual power and control units, service vehicles, etc., without requiring that everything be visible to which they are connected. Many of our member-screeners understand that principal, but some apparently do not. Only the lead/end unit of any train or consist need be unobstructed.
Subjects of photos generally need to be lighted well enough to discern the major details of the particular model being displayed in the picture. This can mean that locomotives, etc., may be photographed with any sun angle (or on cloudy days), and NOT only on perfectly sunny days and NOT only on the sunny side of the subject. Railroads operate in all types of weather on a continuous basis, and we strive to build our database of all the world's rail vehicles in such a way as to illustrate them effectively and beautifully while going about their everyday (and nightly) duties.
It is possible for poor lighting to occur even on a sunny day if, for instance, the top of a locomotive is brightly lit, but the bogies and other underbody details are completely underexposed and dark. We hope to be able to detect pertinent details of any specific photo subject, regardless of the overall lighting, weather or time of day. Night photos are very much welcomed at Trainspo, with the caveat that the subject's details be generally visible enough to identify the type of vehicle it is. Photos of an artful nature are occasionally approved if the overall picture is especially well done, so there are exceptions, however.
Our members make up the vast majority of the screeners on our site, and voting is entirely anonymous -- no one knows how anyone else votes or who the active voting members are (except the site administrator -- not me!). It is about as democratic a moderated approval system as I've seen on any site, and may not always be perfect, but is certainly one of the best and most inclusive.
I hope this has been helpful to you and that we will continue to see more of your excellent photos!
Best regards,
Maersk.146 (editor-US)

Hello and welcome to Trainspo, Ethan!
Yes, one must have Member status to upload pictures for moderation to the database, but as a Fan, you are able to upload Spots taken with and sent from a cell phone, as well as uploading to any of the photo threads in the Community section, such as Everyday Railway Photos, etc., and these may be taken with any type of camera. There is no moderation of Spots or Community section threads, but pictures need to be of a subject appropriate to the discussion.
Hello,
Thanks for letting me be part of this community! I've reported several vehicles that are not in the database - unfortunately they haven't been added yet. Is there anything I can do to help you guys with it? I know you all are doing this voluntarily and have other things going on besides Trainspo. Anything I can do to help?
-´Thanks, Matias

@1993matiaslq Dear Matias,
in order to add the vehicles you reported in our database we need several informations about the vehicle:
-If the Vehicle type is already in our Database but with another train operator, please add the link of the Vehicle Type (Model) in the Report: "Same as [link]"
-If the Vehicle type not in our Database we need following informations:
Name of the vehicle: (DSB Litra 1 for example)
Type: [Steam/EMU/DMU/Diesel Loco/Electric Loco]
Built by: [Builder/Year of Production from/to/Units produced]
Refurbished (if applicable): [From / To / Units refurbished]

If you provide us all those information in the report filling the upper schema we can add all this information faster in the Database and add the vehicle more rapidly. Thank you for your patience.
Best regards
Federico. (editor EU-Area)
Thanks! Good to know how much you need
If there are locomotive classes with missing information, how would you prefer to receive that?
I'm trying to upgrade my account to start uploading images in here, but what is the code which must be submitted in the code section?
How I can press likes for gallery images?
@fintrainphotos if you are on the photo page, just click the "star" on the left bottom corner, under the description
@Taurus717 well, when I'm trying to do it it won't allow me to like the picture for some weird reason?
@1993matiaslq dear Matias, if you have some missing informations you can always click on "Report". This will send us a change request.
@Liukkonen.Eemil Dear Emil, a Fan account can only like and comment images. Please send a report to upgrade your account to a member account in order to join our member community.
@Taurus717 Hello, thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to work. The picture has been waiting for more than two weeks now, and despite several reports it has not been added to the database.
It's not even a complicated one, it's just a new owner for an existing locomotive class.
Do you need help with the database to decrease handling times? I would be happy to help. On the other hand, many other new vehicles have been added the past two weeks, so it seems weird that this one has not been added.
Picture in question:
https://trainspo.com/photo/131812/
@1993matiaslq sorry for the long waiting. The Trainspo-Database is managed by voluntary work so it takes some time. Loco has been added.
Quick question: When submitting a picture of a train owned by LeasingCompany but operated by OperatingCompany, which one should I use?
And what if the OperatingCompany is driving trains on behalf of PublicTransporOrganisation?
@1993matiaslq We are showing the Operator of the train, even if the vehicle is leased, or the personnel is leased, or owned by a public organisation.
For example
MRCE 193, owned by MRCE, Leased to Lokomotion
TOC (Train Operator Company) is Lokomotion,
Train Personnel is leased from 3rd party company.
The train is still planned and operated by Lokomotion. So that's the relevant information.
But! be aware of cross-country journeys. Most of the time, the TOC change at the border. For example Train Munich to Verona, TOC between Munich and Brenner is Lokomotion, Between Brenner and Verona it's RTC (same group, other TOC).

Moderators, color sequence of the flag of Azerbaijan is not correct. It must be blue, red and green!
@LevPavliuk96 @bodya3504 Dear Fans, you must have a Member account in order to upload pictures. The member account is completely free. Please contact our Administrator @ter for upgrade.
@evo.series you're right. @ter can you please correct this? thanks

Hi, what about images with vertical orientation? In the rules indicated it prohibited in any form, but I sometimes see vertical images on trainspo, maybe there are some exceptions?
@LevPavliuk96 -
Hi Lev,
We have the "no vertical formats" rule now because it works better with the horizontal format of the site. In the early days of the site, some photos were in the vertical format and it was decided that they did not display well, so here we are.
Thanks for your interest in the issue and welcome to Trainspo! I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work!

Hi, what's the difference when load photo in the "Main gallery and db" and "Main gallery only"? Only in moderation? I noticed that in "Main gallery only" moderation is a little faster, but I didn’t notice any more differences, I understand that images get into the main gallery when 13 likes are typed there, regardless of what was chosen during publication, but at the same time I sometimes notice on the main gallery images where there isn't 10 likes, can you explain how it works? Thanks.
@LevPavliuk96 Hello,
Normal moderation: the screeners can choose between "OK"/"Database" (with Reason)"/"Reject (with Reason)" -> Picture will appear in the Main gallery if it's good enough or in the database if its quality is not so good but enough for the database.
Database: the screeners can choose between "Database"/"Reject (with Reason)". This picture will never appear in the main gallery but only in the database when you are looking for it. Good option if you think that it will not pass the voting process but it's ok for the Database.
Main Gallery Only: the screeners can choose only between "OK" and "Reject". This makes the screening process a little bit faster, but if the picture has many negative votes it will not be accepted.
About the "Liked" section: Trainspo has an algorithm that chooses the best pictures based on the number of likes. This number is dynamic and depends on how many users are active on Trainspo. Actually it is around 13 likes or so. (there is a bug right now that is being solved). It goes higher when many pictures are liked and it lowers when the number of likes in the main gallery drops. This process is completely indipendent from the voting process.
Best Regards
FS
What are the plans for the companies DB Cargo Deutschland and DB Schenker Deutschland now? They're essentially the same company, but instead of renaming the original one, somebody created a separate company under the new name. Is there really no (easy) way to combine them entirely?
@ddz7504 We are working to Join the two profiles DB Schenker Deutschland (DBSDE) and DB Cargo Deutschland (DBC) in order to not create two different profiles but to have one profile for the two names, which is here the case, since the Railway Undertaking changed its name on March 1st. 2016.
@Taurus717 Thank you. Does this mean that I should be uploading pictures as DBSDE and not DBC yet?
@ddz7504 Yes, they will be merged soon.
@Taurus717 I've edited my pictures that were still waiting to be added to DBC back to DBSDE now. I also have a little request about this, could the entire DBCNL 186 class be moved to the main DBC once it's merged with DBSDE?
https://trainspo.com/class/10481/ This is because these locomotives were used mixed with the DB Cargo Vectrons, not just in the Netherlands but in Belgium and Germany too.

Hi, how to make a comment under a photo as a story? when I click on the story button, nothing happens
@LevPavliuk96 When we press the Story button, that amounts to a vote for the info to be classified as a Story, and then waits for approval by the moderator (or some other God-like entity) to bestow his blessing on it
...

@Taurus717 Any news on the DBC/DBSDE front yet? Nothing has changed since I last asked. Is there really no way I can help?

Hi, does anyone know if it's possible to send an invitation to join trainspo as a member? I know man who applied to join trainspo as a member 3 months ago and wrote @ter, but unfortunately no one answered him, although he has great photos that would fit perfectly on this site. Thanks
I'm waiting for the approval of the "new vehicle" for several months ...
