storyThe West Isle Line runs 5.25 miles from a connection with the BNSF to Alpaugh. The track is an ex-Santa Fe branch line that was acquired from BNSF in 1998 by Western Farm Service (now Nutrien, and the only customer on the railroad) to make sure rail service would not be abandoned. The GP9 was built for Southern Pacific in February, 1956.
