IR WAG-12B 60235Rayagada Orissa Rayagada

My first capture of one of the most powerful locomotives of the world, WAG-12-B manufactured by ALSTOM for dedicated freight corridors. Spotted many times in the freight routes but never got lucky to click this heavyweight of Indian Railways. It was a dream come true moment for me when this WAG-12-B rolled through the Majhigouri Rayagada railway bridge with empty BOXN freight towards ladda station. As of year 2025, 500 WAG-12B are in service in different freight routes and with my interactions with the engineers of this locomotive, they say it is very comfortable to operate this locomotive for long hours.

@Maersk.146 Thank you... it is considered as a single unit ..6000 HP in first unit and 6000 HP in second unit with single road number

@jmadhavadas It looks like there are some bridge piers under construction in the foreground. Is it for another railroad bridge?

@1cctlives Yes, a new railroad bridge is being constructed. Current one is very old
